I started this prayer shawl in early February. I was only knitting on it on trips, so it took a while. I also recently finished a couple of dish cloths. My kitchen is blue, so I will keep these for myself.

It has definitely been a busy and productive craft week. I guess it keeps me out of trouble. I made a computer birthday card for my friend, Kathy. It was all craft-related humor and turned out very cute.

Here's a little iron caddy for a mini iron. I've been wanting to make this for some time, and finally got it done. TGIF (Thank goodness it's finished)!

It has two layers of insulbrite in it, and unfolds

to become a small ironing pad. I'm think this will

be very handy when we go glamping or when I

go to craft events and will need my own iron.

Iris will turn 9 on the 23rd of this month. She wants an owl-theme birthday party. I will send here these hair clips and pencil toppers to give to her guests as party favors. I wasn't sure how many to make. Hope I have enough!

These machine embroidery designs are from ggdesignsembroidery.com.

On to another sewing project. With my new sewing table looking so beautiful, I was inspired to make covers for my serger and my sewing machine. This cat fabric is some that I made a machine cover with some time ago. That cover doesn't fit my new sewing machine though. I had enough left to make two more covers, and happened to have some fabric in my SABLE that coordinated well. I reviewed several online videos to get my bearings and then plunged in. I first cut some oversized fabric to do some straight line quilting on it. Then, I cut sizes I calculated for the fronts, backs and center pieces. The serger slopes in the front, so fitting that involved some basting, frogging, re-cutting, pinning, re-basting, etc. until I got a fit that I was happy with. The sewing machine cover was much more straight forward. These are such a nice upgrade from the thin, wimpy plastic covers that come with the machines.

These are reversible, so this is one side ...

The one on the left is mine ...

Since getting the Easter dresses done for the grands, I used the excess fabric together with other fabrics to make these Bindle Bags. They are fun to do, and I even made a fourth one for myself. The pattern has three sizes. I made Iris a little larger one than the others. I'll probably be using mine for a lunch bag when I have food I want to take somewhere. I lost my old one.

and this is the other side ...

Since it was just Merwin and I for Easter, I only colored a few eggs. I used the whipping cream and food coloring idea which seemed to work quite well. I just used the traditional liquid food coloring, so the colors are more muted, but I liked the results.
