Cross stitch anniversary cards

I nearly forgot about the anniversary cards for Leslie and Anders and for Emelie and Matthias.

Kreative Kiwi haunted houses

These haunted houses by Kreative Kiwi seemd to be quite popular on their FB page. I had to give one a try to send to Emelie. She had said she needed some Halloween decorations. I liked it so well that I decided to make one for Leslie, then I went ahead and made one for myself. They stitch out beautifully; and they use a rather unique technique to create an in-the-hoop design that is actually much larger than the hoop size I actually have. It's done by using several hoopings and connecting them to each other as you go along.

Fall decor

In changing over my décor from spring/summer to fall, I decided I'd like to have some napkins to coordinate with my pumpkin-print table cloth. I found the perfect fabric at Joanns. I made 6 dinner napkins, 4 cocktail napkins, 4 coasters, and a small candle mat.

candle holder I made last year.

Embellished towels and birthday card

Cross stitch birthday card

I embellished these towels for Emelie for her birthday and used the same fabric on her birthday card. I had used this fabric years ago to make placemats for her.

Mother's Day cards

Three Mother's Day cards: One for Leslie; one for Emelie, and one for my friend, Shirley.

November and December calendar hangers

Here are the calendar hangers for Sonja and Julia for November and December. "That's All Folks!"

Knit wedding afghan

This afghan was a wedding gift for my nephew and his new wife. It was knit with Lion Brand Heartland Yarn, Color Olympic. The pattern was Premier Yarns' Dakota Throw.

Knit sweater for Julia

When we visited Emelie and family in Nebraska in May, I knit this little sweater for Julia. She was able to watch me do the knitting and seemed to like it when it was done

Then I made one for Sonja since I had more of this beautiful Bernat Softee Baby yarn. I still have one more skein to find a use for.

The sweater is called Wonder Wave, a DROPS Design:

Machine embroidery embellished t-shirt

Here's the shirt I embellished for Merwin for his birthday. I got the idea from a Life is Good shirt but wanted to do my own. (Oops, I don't seem to have a picture. I'll have to edit to add later.)

I think this is the right one ...

Easter napkins

I thought I should have some Easter napkins. It was quite a search for the fabric, but it's by one of my favorite artists, Susan Winget. I have four plates with different bunnies. Found them one year at Hobby Lobby.

Barn quilt

Grandmother's Flower Garden
in memory of Grandmother.

Kathy and I decided we should have some barn quilts on our houses. Merwin built the forms and put the first coats of primer on, then Kathy and I had a painting day in our garage. It took a couple more days to get them completed. Kathy doesn't have hers hung up yet.

Kathy thinks of barn quilts as a "secret handshake" between quilters.

It looks so tiny!

And here's Kathy's

Hanging kitchen towels

Hanging towels were requested by Leslie, and she selected this fabric. I was very lucky to find some towels at Walmart to coordinate beautifully with her fabric.

The first (machine embroidery) attempt at a towel topper was much too small, so I made a towel for Sonja's little kitchen.

Hooded bath towels

For Easter, I made this hooded bath towel for Valentin, then it seemed Julia could use one, too, so I made her one with a Frozen theme (at her request). The colors of the towels are much prettier than the pictures reflect.

Quilted wall hangings

I made a moose in the window wall hanging for Leslie in 2014. She picked out this pattern for a bear in the window, and I finished it for her for her birthday in 2021. The background is a panel and I had just enough of the fabric left from the moose to use for the sashing and border. I used an edge-to-edge machine embroidery quilt design with trees and bears from designsbyjuju.com.

In June, 2021 I finished this patriotic
chenille wall hanging.

Cross stitch greeting cards

Sometimes you don't realize all the crafting you've accomplished till you list them all.
I've made more greeting cards than I realized ...

Crafting with Iris

Crafting with Iris during her visit in March ...

Iris and I made this snowman banner when she was here in March. It's one I made for myself and then made one with Sonja, and Iris wanted one, too.

Mine is on the top; Iris' on the bottom.

We painted rocks ... (picture to come)

Iris enjoyed making things with the branches and vines she gathered outside and left this for me to use as a wall hanging.

She wanted to make coasters to sell as a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity but there wasn't time, so I sent her some pre-cut fabrics for Easter that she could sew together.
