Birthday/Celebration banner

This Birthday/Celebration banner will be Emelie's birthday present in October. I hope she enjoys using it for her family. I'm pretty sure that the machine embroidery font I used was from FunStitch.com called Kiddy Applique. I put batting between the flags and just sewed them wrong sides together, then used pinking shears on the edges. I used grosgrain ribbon to string the flags by just folding it in half over the tops of the flags and top stitching it down.

Christmas stockings for the troops

The larger of these Christmas stockings will go to an organization that is collecting them for our US troops. The smaller one was a prototype and turned out too small, so I'm not sure what will happen to it. I thought the fabric was cute when fussy-cut.

Baby towel

This is a rather plain baby towel that I made for the granddaughter of some friends at the lake. The baby was there when we got to the lake, so I borrowed a sewing machine and went shopping for a towel. No embellishment due to the lake of my usual resources.

Basket weaving

In July Kathy and I took another basket weaving class at the Anacortes Senior Center. The shorter basket is mine, and the taller one is Kathy's. It's amazing how different each one in the class turned out.

Tissue box covers

Time for some updates. In July I made a couple more tissue box covers. One is for the bathroom at the lake, and the other is a thank you gift for my niece, Kim. It is made with fabrics that Phyllis used in a quilt she made for Kim.
