Quilt for Gloria

This quilt is a gift for a friend's mother who is turning 90 years old on July 5th. She doesn't seem to want any special celebration, but I just wanted to make her a quilt. I purchased the print fabrics from the flat fold table at Pacific Fabrics. I wasn't sure what I would be doing with them at the time, but I was glad I had them when the opportunity presented itself. I also had the background fabric in my stash. I don't remember where or why I purchased it. I did have to go back to the flat fold table for the backing and binding.

The pattern is Falling Charms from the Missouri Star Quilt Company. The blocks finish at 7", arranged 7x9, so the quilt size is approximately 42x63. I quilted it with a simple wavy-line machine stitch.

Mermaid doll and accessories

I made this mermaid doll and accessories for Iris last year. She's not much into dolls, so wanted to leave it here. I thought I'd keep it at the lake and maybe Sonja and Julia would like to play with it. So today I made this bag to keep it all in.

"Susie Pouch"

I recently made this "Susie Pouch" that finally turned out pretty cute after a rough beginning (mis-cutting directional fabric), middle (accidentally ironed over elastic ribbon that proceeded to melt), and end (had trouble sewing the final seams around the bag where it meets the zipper ... ripped it all out to do the zipper a different way). A learning experience!

Cross stitch card/mug rug

This cross stitch chart, Flip Flop Summer is by Barbara Ana and provided by Cyberstitchers.

I made a mug rug with it and tacked it to a card front for a friend's birthday. She can remove it from the card and use it as a mug rug.

Potholders/Westalee rulers practice

I made these potholders for our trailer at the lake. I experimented with my Westalee rulers for the quilting designs. I didn't want them to be so fancy that I wouldn't use them.

Cross stitch wedding card

This is a wedding card for my nephew, Anthony, and his fiancé, Mary, who will be married this month. The chart was free from Ellen Maurer-Stroh, but I believe her charts have been taken offline and her website closed.

Knit Seahawks scarf

I've knit another Seahawks scarf. This is the herringbone stitch again ending with the flowers in a row pattern before binding off. I made this short to wear as a cowl.
